Makalu Base Camp Trek, adventure around world fifth highest mountains located Nepal Far Eastern Himalaya within scenic and beautiful Arun and Barun valley.
A great journey on the less traveled areas by other mass flow of trekkers in this perfect wilderness to Makalu base camp where you can view towering peaks of Makalu-Baruntse-Chamlang with rare East Face of Mt. Everest known as ‘Khangsung.’
Certainly an adventure of a lifetime experience which leads you from the warm valley of Arun River and towards high cooler alpine hills covered within the deep dense coniferous forest of tall rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines and fir tree lines.
The walk leads into remote farm areas within traditional interesting villages of great interest untouched by modern outside world with an old heritage of lifestyle as it was for hundreds of years, the areas of mixed tribe mostly populated by Kirat people of Rai-Limbu with few Gurung – Magar and some Hindu tribes.
On leaving villages and town heading high into Barun valley after crossing Kongma-la, Shipton-la and past glacial lakes known as Thulo and Sano Pokhari (Big and Small ponds) then into a huge scenic Barun valley considered as rich areas for herbs and rare species of vegetation which is almost lost in this planet, found only on this great areas.
Walking towards the end of the valley to the foot of world number fifth highest Mt. Makalu above 8, 463 m / 27,766 ft with the super panorama of peaks that surround the base camp with Baruntse and Chamlang glaciers close to MAKALU BASE CAMP TREK.
After an exciting and enjoyable time walk leads on the same route to Tumlingtar allowing you with more time to soak in this beautiful wilderness and great scenery, finally reaching around warmer rice field areas of sub-tropical climate at Tumlingtar around Arun valley for the flight back to Kathmandu with marvelous experience and adventure on Makalu Base Camp Trekking.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu and Transfer to Hotel
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing with trek briefing and preparation.
Day 03: Fly to Tumlingtar 448 m – 40 mins and drive to Num 1,490 m – 04 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Seduwa 1,540 m – 05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Tashi Gaon 2,135m – 04 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Kongma Danda 3,556 m – 05 hrs
Day 07: Trek to Mumbuk 3,553 m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Nehe Kharka 3,760 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Nehe Kharka 3,760 m – 05 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Shersong 4, 572 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Makalu Base Camp 4,812 m – 04 hrs.
Day 11: Rest day at base camp for an optional hike.
Day 12: Trek to Yangle Kharka 3, 598 m – 06 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Mumbuk – 05 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Kongma Ridge – 05 hrs.
