Known for the highest peak climbing in the world, Mera Peak is situated in Mahalangur section at an altitute of 6476 meters. With the view of some majestic and distinct mountains, Mera Peak Climbing has 3 summits among which we will be climbing the highest one. The stunning view from the peak is marvelous and presents us the panorama of Himalaya with five 8,000m above peaks i.e. Mt.Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga.

The journey of Mera Peak Climbing begins after sightseeing of historical and cultural heritage of Kathmandu. The very next day we fly to Lukla. After reaching Lukla we will ascend to nature’s paradise Hinku Valley crossing the Zatrwa La Pass which demands a good physical fitness, but no need to worry we take you to our tested acclimatization procedure to make you more adaptive of the region.

Hinku Valley is one of the oldest Valley in Khumbu region with few settlements and many dwellers are Buddhist and it lies on the bank of Hinku river which originates from the combined glacier of Mera and Kyashar and which flows below as Dhud Koshi River. Passing Hinku valley we walk along the bank of Hinku river which is yet another exciting journey to Mera Peak. Then crossing Zatrwa La Pass we climb the Mera peak, which is also an opportunity to those who have love towards mountaineering. Therefore we present the nature lover our Mera Peak trek of 16 days, in which we deploy ourselves to make the trek everlasting memory of your lifetime.

Outline Itinerary of Mera Peak Climbing


Day 01: Flight to Tribhuvan international airport and overnight at three-star hotels

Day 02: Day city tour and trip meeting, overnight at three-star hotels

Day 03: Early morning fly to Tenzing Hillary airport and trek to Chutanga (3000m) 3 hours walking overnight at the lodge

Day 04: Trek from Chutanga to Thuli Kharka (4000m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 05: Trek from Thuli Kharka to Kothe (3550m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 06: Trek from Kothe to Thangna (4360m) 4/5 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 07: Trek to Khare (5100m) 3/4 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 08:  Rest day at Khare (5100m) for acclimatization Overnight at Lodge

Day 09: In Khare check your all climbing equipment and move to Mera Base Camp (5300m) 3/4 hours walking overnight in a tent

Day 10: Trek from Mera Base Camp to high camp (5600m) 2/3 hours walking overnight in a tent

Day 11: Summit day (6476m) start early morning get summit to enjoy the view and back to high came and have lunch then trek down to Khare(5100m) overnight at the lodge

Day 12: Trek from Khare to Kothe (3550m) 4/5 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 13: Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka (4000m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge

Day 14: Final walking day from Thuli Kharka to Lukla (2800m) 5/6 hours walking and overnight at lodge

Day 15: Fly to Tribhuvan international and drive to the hotel then your fully rest and relaxing day

Day 16: Your final departure back home

Physical fitness
Mera Peak is the highest peak allowed for climbing in Nepal. It is technically difficult climbing peak with straightforward climbing. It is suitable for all fit trekkers who know about climbing. The peak climbing of Yala is ideal for experienced people.

Lodging and food
We will be greeting you at International airport and make your stay possible at one of the 3-star hotels in the town. While you are on the Trek, you will be staying at the Hotels and Teahouse / Lodge with few nights camping. The stay may be twin sharing or single(depends on what you want and it is difficult to find a separate bedroom at high above). Likewise, Access the Asia will take you to the best possible place where you can enjoy the hygienic Nepali as well as International food. Accommodation with breakfast, lunch and dinner at different areas during trekking and in camping as per the holiday plan will be provided. For the Lunch and Dinner, while staying at Kathmandu, you are responsible for the payment. There will be the farewell dinner with every guest after they return form their Trek.

Best Time to travel
March to May and September – Early November is the best for climbing Mera Peak.

Generally, we will be traveling by Bus. If you want to go in private vehicles, then we can make it possible but it may take extra charges. Flights are also available.

Day 01: Flight to Tribhuvan international airport and over night at three star hotels.

Welcome you at Tribhuvan International Airport by our representative with company name on placard and direct transfer to hotel in Kathmandu (3 star). Our guide will brief you about next day plan on hotel.

Day 02: Day city tour and trip meeting, over night at three star hotels.

On this day, cultural city guide will meet you at hotel and he/she will guide you around the Kathmandu valley and you will visit to world heritage sites Bhaktapur Durbar Square, Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa and other cultural and traditional areas after completion of city tour we will return back to office and meet the team and other participant members and discuss over the trip and we will give you a briefing about tour and we will make sure your all the equipment's are ready and in fine condition.

Day 03: Early morning fly to Tenzing-Hillary airport and trek to Chutanga (3000m) 3 hours walking over night at lodge.

After early breakfast, your guide will meet you at hotel and you will be escorted to the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International airport and take early morning flight to Lukla which is about 30 minutes from Kathmandu. In Lukla we will meet other staffs there we will set luggage for porters to carry. After that we will have a walk through the stone trails and lushly forest observing the local villages and head towards Chutanga. Note: All the flights to Lukla are scheduled early in the morning however sometimes due to weather problem flight may be delay at those situations we would like you to have patience.

Day 04: Trek from Chutanga to Thuli Kharka (4000m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge.

After breakfast we start our journey to Thuli Kharka which is our destination for the day. We take the uphill route crossing the shady forest of pine trees and rhododendron and we are accompanied by a cheerful music of birds and peasants and reach to Khartitang we take an early lunch and move forward towards Chatra-La pass from Chatra-la we can view stunning glimpses of Himalayas and village down the hill then we walk down the hill at comfortable pace to Thuli Kharka. Overnight at Thuli Khara.

Day 05: Trek from Thuli Kharka to Kothe (3550m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge.

After breakfast we start our next journey to Kothe. Following the bushy trails, enjoying the mountains and cool mountain breeze we move forward, after couple of hour we enter the rhododendron forest and climb down to small Thakthor village where we stop for our lunch. After lunch we again hike up and down the hill to Kothe. In between to Kothe we pass through very thick forest we can see different nature of flowers as per the season, the forest is mostly covered with pine, rhododendron, bamboos and other vegetations we also pass along the trail of Inkhu khola. Overnight at Kothe.

Day 06: Trek from Kothe to Tangnag (4360m) 4/5 hours walking overnight at lodge.

On this day after breakfast we hike through the rocky terrains and wide bank of river Inkhu towards Soure and there we take our lunch and after that we continue our journey to Tangnag following the bank of river. Overnight at Tangnag.

Day 07: Trek to Khare (5100m) 3/4 hours walking overnight at lodge

After warm breakfast we hike for our next destination which will be Khare. Crossing glacier and Inkhu Khola we take a mild upward route at a comfortable pace viewing the scenic beauty of mountains from close range then we reach to Khare and in Khare we end today’s journey and take lunch. Overnight at lodge Khare.

Day 08: Rest day at Khare (5100m) for acclimatization Overnight at Lodge.

On this day we take rest and get acquainted to the climate and surrounding environment, we collect all the equipment required for the peak climbing and we make sure that all he equipments are in proper and good condition, after lunch our guide will provide some climbing training and get ready for next day. We may have a short hike around the Khare village.

Day 09: Move to Mera Base Camp (5300m) 3/4 hours walking overnight in tent.

After breakfast we move toward the Mera base camp. We follow the upward trails of Rocky Mountains then we pass by the trails of full of snow and ice, passing the snow trail we use crampons and as per the situation Sherpa will fix the rope if needed. After reaching Mera la our staffs will arrange all the camping stuffs and we take lunch after that, this will be our first night on tent.

Day 10: Trek from Mera base camp to high camp (5600m) 2/3 hours walking overnight in tent.

After camp breakfast, we walk to Mera high camp passing the Mera la pass. We walk above the white snow with crampons. Our crew members set high camp after the walk of 2/3 hours then we will have lunch and take rest for next day. We can enjoy the view of Mt.Everest, Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Lhotse, Nuptse, Chamlang and Baruntse. Overnight at High Camp.

Day 11: Summit day (6476m)

This will be very big day for us as we are ready for the summit. We take some hot drinks at mid-night and arrange stuffs for climbing and we start the climbing towards the summit with the help of head light. You carry some water and some energy snacks along with you. It will be little cold at the beginning but you will warm as you progress along the trail. The path is not very technical but still there are some crevasses where we should take care. As we move towards the summit the path steepens and we reach the summit. You can take pictures on submit and from there you can see eye catching view of Everest, Kanchenjunga ,Makalu ,Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Cho-Oyu, Chamlang, Baruntse and so on. After successful submit we trace our path back to High Camp and take our lunch. After that we trace out route back to Khare. Overnight at Khare. We cannot assure you that there will be always favorable weather on our planned itinerary for the summit (day 11).Therefore, we may set aside a day as reservation day for those kind of situations in case we are unable to summit the Mera on day 11. However if the trip goes smooth and unbothered by weather we do not need this extra day

Day 12: Trek from Khare to Kothe (3550m) 4/5 hours walking overnight at lodge.

On this day we take a late breakfast so you can get enough rest as your body may get a bit tired from yesterday’s journey. After having a breakfast we hike back to Kothe with ease at a comfortable pace passing Hinku River, rocky terrains and pass Tangnag village to Kothe. Overnight at Kothe.

Day 13: Trek from Kothe to Thuli Kharka (4000m) 5/6 hours walking overnight at lodge

After breakfast, we hike back to Thuli Kharka for one hour we follow the bank of Hinku and leaving the Hinku river we pass the dense forest and hike up and down through steep hills to Thakthor and have lunch after lunch we continue our as usual journey to upward passing the rhododendron forest then after we follow the bushy trail to Thuli Kharka.

Day 14: Final walking day from Thuli Kharka to Lukla (2800m) 5/6 hours walking and overnight at lodge.

After breakfast, we ascend upward through wide and bushy pass enjoying view of green villages down the hill and white snow capped mountains up. Then we cross Chhatra la pass and we rapidly climb down to Lukla through Khartitang village and reach Chutang and have lunch and finally we hike for the last time to Lukla.

Day 15: Fly to Tribhuvan international and drive to hotel then your fully rest and relaxing day.

We take early breakfast and are ready to fly back to Kathmandu. Arriving Kathmandu you will be escorted to hotel from our vehicle. At evening we will have farewell dinner in Nepali Traditional Restaurant.

Day 16: Your final departure back home

Our trek ends here, we would like to thank you for visiting Nepal and it was great for our company to do a wonderful trek with you. Our guide will escort you to Tribhuvan International Airport 2-3 hours before the scheduled flight time.
