Langtang valley trek is one of the famous and favorite treks as it covers breath-taking panoramic views and eye-catching scenes of the Himalaya ranges. This trek has less chance of altitude sickness because you will be provided with the important guidance from our experienced guide and it covers altitude favorable for every trekker who wants to gain trekking experience in the Himalayas. Itinerary

Day 1

After your arrival at the TIA (Tribhuwan International Airport), Kathmandu, you are received with warm and hearty welcome by our friendly and accommodating staff along with welcoming banner stand sign outside the arrival terminal. Meanwhile, it is followed up by short welcoming procedure in a typical Nepali tradition and you are escorted to the luxurious hotel in Kathmandu. During this time period, you can feel the vibes of the bustling lifestyle of Kathmandu city. Various cultural heritages and ancient sculptures with magnificent monasteries are the center of attraction in Kathmandu city.  Furthermore, you are provided with pleasantly brief details regarding your stay in hotel. A comfortable and luxurious stay in hotel of Kathmandu for this night.

Note: A short meeting is held at a set time the same day or else it takes place in the first hour the following day depending upon your arrival time.

Day 2

One of the explorative days begins with your breakfast and a short meeting regarding the brief details of your trek. You meet with our managing director and the representatives of our company along with the staffs allocated for accomplishing your wonderful journey to Langtang Valley. Meanwhile, our city guide provides you the brief details of the city tour allocated for this day and you are provided with the grounded private transportation for this particular tour. Kathmandu, also known as the ‘ City of Temples’ has lots of ancient monasteries, unique sculptures, important religious and cultural sites, delightful culture, customs and unique lifestyle of people living in the capital city of Nepal. Kathmandu city has become the dwelling place for people from all over the country. Hence, this is the perfect sample for unity in diversity. People of different religion, culture and unique lifestyle have collaborated together to unite in this wonderful city. Some of the important tourist destinations of this city are Pashupatinath Temple ( one of the most holiest places for Hindus), Syambhunath and  Boudha Stupa (two major Buddhist monasteries), Kathmandu Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square (Ancient sculptures and architectures with Pagoda style Temples), Newari culture, customs and cuisine (Indigenous and traditional community of Kathmandu city).

Your exploration occupies some space for you to recap all those beautiful memories and understand the lifestyle and history of Kathmandu. After this beautiful journey, you are escorted back to hotel and an overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 3

With all the excitement and eagerness to accomplish this trek, you are set to start this day with an early morning breakfast. You begin your trekking journey right away for Langtang trek from Kathmandu where you are picked up from your hotel by our staff member (Experienced license holder guide) to New Bus Park. And, you drive to Syabru Besi which takes around 8-9 hours to reach there and overnight stay at Syabru Besi.

During this journey, you get the vibes where you forget the crowd with hustle and bustle lifestyle to peaceful journey with high hills, magnificent mountain views, rivers and natural beauty. You must not miss out the views during this drive which makes your journey amazing and full of excitement.

Drive duration: 8-9 hours

Accommodation: Lodge/Guest house/Tea house in Syabru Besi

Day 4

Most awaited hike begins from this day where you start hiking up to Lama hotel from Syabru Besi. After breakfast at Syabru Besi, you start your hike crossing the Bhote Koshi river and hiking through the lush forest with aromatic surrounding. Rhododendron forests, high hills and steep upward route comprise this hike with lots of flora and fauna on your way. This hike is the first hike of your trek which may seem a bit steep upward, but you can have a comfortable stay at Lama Hotel where they are eagerly waiting for a warm hospitality and a comfortable overnight stay there.

 Hike Duration: 5-6 hours

Day 5

Your morning begins with an amazing feeling after waking up in the most beautiful place fully equipped with natural beauty and the glimpse of Himalayan ranges. After breakfast with a scenic view, you continue your hiking to Langtang valley on this day. There are many places to cherish this hike as you pass through Ghoda Tabela consisting the trial with Green meadow and you can feel the presence of the Langtang ranges with lots of magnificent and wonderful sights. This hike consists of the trial that reminds you of the devastating earthquake as you can see the rocks that fell down and hampered the beautiful village with decorative lodges and homestays.

 Meanwhile during this hike, you can see the herders grazing their livestock in high summer pastures and lush forest with a glimpse of Langtang Lirung on your way. After this wonderful hike, you are provided with the warm hospitality, authentic food and accommodation at Langtang Valley with a comfortable overnight stay there.

Day 6

One of the shortest and wonderful hikes of this trek is hiking from Langtang Valley to Kyanjin Gompa as the views become wider and clearer as you move upward. Yak pastures, Government run Yak cheese factory, Tamang culture, Buddhists prayers flags and ancient stones where the Buddhist inscriptions are carved are some of the treasures of this trial.

After reaching Kyanjin Gompa, you can relax and enjoy the view around with a recap of beautiful memories on the way. Moreover, you have an option to hike around Langshisha Kharka which itself is a wonderland for many trekkers and an overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 7

This particular day is the most awaited one as it challenges your caliber to hike to the top, Kyanjin Ri (4750m). You have an option to hike around Kyanjin Gompa or to ascend up to the top to gain the experience of reaching Kyanjin Ri (4750m), the highest altitude of this trek. As we say, reaching the top is an immense joy but the more interesting and joyful moments are created during the time we climb to the top of the mountain. Early morning with more enthusiasm, you set out for a hike to Kyanjin Ri so that you won’t miss out the beautiful sunrise views and the panorama of sky piercing mountains on the way.

This trial comprises of various magnificent ice faces and on the way Tumbling Glacier of Langtang Lirung (7246m) is the key attraction to make your journey more exciting and fruitful. And, an overnight stay at Kyanjin Gompa.

Day 8

While you start your hike down to Lama Hotel, you get a chance to explore the places you’ve missed out while ascending. Retracing the trial, you hike through Ghoda Tabela, Mundu Village, streams and rivers (Langtang Khola). The trials while descending become easier and relaxing as compared to ascending to the top. Hiking through forests and crossing the streams an overnight stay at Lama Hotel.

Day 9

You have multiple options to reach to Syabru Besi from Lama Hotel. And, this hike is the final hike of this trek where you can choose an easy way to trace back or the tough and steep trial with beautiful and stunning views of Langtang region through Rimche and Sherpa Gaun. The weather also plays the vital role to choose the trial and equally your strength to hike tougher trial. After reaching to Syabru Besi an overnight stay there.

Day 10

After breakfast at Syabru Besi, you set out for a drive back to Kathmandu.

Day 11

This particular day is allocated for relaxing, recollecting and rearranging all the memories you had during the trek to Langtang Valley. You can have a solo tour around your place and do shopping for your loved ones as a token of love from Nepal. Spending night time in Thamel area with the music and a sip of drink make you lost in paradise. And, an overnight stay at Kathmandu.

Day 12

After breakfast in Kathmandu, it’s time for farewell where you are picked up from your hotel and dropped off to TIA (Tribhuwan International Airport) for your departure. It’s always better to reach to the airport 3 hours prior to the departure time.

What to Bring?

One of the most beautiful and easiest trek locations in north part of  Kathmandu. To ensure your safety, comfort, and pleasure during your trek, the appropriate gear is crucial. When trekking in the Langtang valley trek you should bring the following items, among others:

  1. Trekking boots: As you reach to various landscapes including the rocky difficult trials in this region. Therefore, the sturdy trekking boots is required with an ankle support to make your trek safer and risk free.
  2. Hand Gloves: Another important trekking equipment is hand gloves. Basically, hand gloves is used to prevent your hands from frostbite and the possible numb situation due to snow.
  3. Hat: It is the equipment that is used to prevent yourself from severe coldness. Basically, hats that covers your ears are highly preferable in order to keep you warm.
  4. Backpack: A roomy backpack is necessary for you to carry the electronics equipment like mobile and camera with water bottle and other necessary personal equipment.
  5. Clothing: You have to be prepared for the sudden change in the weather. Thus, you have to take thermal undergarments, layered clothes and trekking trousers to make yourself cozy and warm. Fleece and down jacket with a scarf, hat and mittens are also very useful during this trek.
  6. Sleeping bag: In Langtang region, the weather might reach to the minimum level. Thus, a quality sleeping bag is necessary which can keep you warm and safe during the trek.
  7. Trekking poles: While walking in the rocky and steep grounds, you have to be careful whereas trekking poles help your ankle and knees to prevent you from the possible mishaps.
  8. Headlamp: For Navigating early in the morning and evening time, you need the headlamps while moving though the lodge and tea houses in the lush forests.
  9. Sunglasses: UV protected and a quality Sunglasses is required to prevent yourself from the glare of the snow and intense mountain sunshine.
  10. Water container and purification tablets: The water during the trek is most essential. Healthy and pure water makes your trek full of energy whereas polluted water might hamper your health. Thus, water container and purification tablets are really necessary.
  11. First aid box: The first aid equipment like bandages, antiseptic cream, pain relievers, and altitude sickness medication is crucial. The trekking leader of the trek also carries first aid medical kit for your safety.

CANCELLATION POLICY AND PAYMENTS

  • As different permits, flight tickets and other government official documents are necessary so payment is highly appreciable if done 30 days prior of the trekking start date.
  • Payments are supposed to be done 15 days prior to the trekking start date.
  • If cancellation is made 10 days before the trek start date, 50% of the total trek cost will be charged as the cancellation fees.
  • In case of restrictions imposed by the government, bad weather or the emergency situation, the company will not to be liable to any extra cost and will find the most feasible way to proceed the trek.
                   

ADVISORY

  • Non-bio degradable materials are not allowed to dispose in the trekking route randomly.
  • Proper follow of the guidance provided by the leader/guide of the trek.
  • Alcoholic beverages and other intoxicating substances are highly discouraged.
  • There might be the chances of bad weather so be prepared for the inconvenience caused by the unpredictable weather.
  • Try to be mentally and physically prepared before this trek with few short hikes before this trek is highly recommended.

PRELIMINARY AND KEY NOTES

  • Greeting ‘Namaste’ (your palms held together) is the most respectful and attractive way to greet somebody and is practiced profoundly.
  • Accessibility of internet and phone calls can be made efficient using the mobile SIM Card provided by the company itself or you can buy easily in the local market. All you need is one passport sized photo and a photocopy of your physical passport in either case.
  • There are lots of major cultural heritage sites in Kathmandu along with the ancient monasteries and sculptures. Photos are not taken unless you have asked for the permission.
  • The nightlife in Kathmandu is mostly safe and concentrated in Thamel area, one of the busiest destinations for foreigners to hang out with varied options of bars, restaurants and other places to choose from. Somehow, other areas including small towns are closed before 10pm.
  • Nepalese people are friendly, truly kind and incredibly welcoming as there is a phrase in Nepali culture ‘Guests equal Gods’. Out of the blue moon, there are several chances of being cheated. Saying this, you are somehow prone to possible travel scams. Keep yourself and your belongings safe, if you are travelling solo. How high is Langtang Valley Trek?

Langtang Valley trek ranges from an altitude of 1503 meters (4,934 feet) to 4984 meters (16,350 feet). The trek starts from Syabrubesi which is a small village at an altitude of 1503 meters (4,934 feet). From here, the trekkers begin to trek upwards passing through the serenity of the place along with lush forests, scenic villages and stunning Himalayan landscapes. The highest point of this trek is Tserko Ri, 4984 meters which can be an alternative option to reach there. Or else, the highest point becomes the Kyanjin Ri which is 4750 meters. From the highest elevation, you can view the stunning Himalayan ranges like Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Ganesh Himal and many other snowcapped mountains.

                   

Do I need a permit to go to Langtang trek?

Of course. You need the various permits for the Langtang Trek. The permits include the Langtang National Park Permit, TIMS (Trekkers Information Management System). What is the accommodation like in the Langtang Valley Trek?

The accommodation ranges from simple tea houses to comfortable and cozy lodges. The lower part of the trek offers you with the lodges and you can get the proper bedding and comfortable rooms. However, once you start to move to the higher altitudes, the accommodation becomes very basic in the tea houses. You are provided with the basic amenities and basic elements for accommodation.
